eeeeeeeek. I hate these little creepies.

They rode in on our latest food haul. Turkey grower

( the broody hens love the extra proteins ) unfortunately we had filled the 5 bag drum so it was a big waste as well as effort spraying these uninvited freeloaders down.

First effort involved a natural mix of :

1 gallon water

4 tsps soap

4 tsps Neem oil ( Mere enough health food)

This happened for a few days.. I need a new angle.

Neem oil is said to suffocate the mites and eggs. It's a thick yellow and very stinky oil!

Second effort is white vinegar in my sprayer.

The vinegar job is to upset the PH on the mites, killing them and the eggs. Go acidity!

Here they are: Clover mites

( the red devils that feed on plants ) in their young stage. I've been googling up and it's a 3 day cycle with a bazillion eggs laid.. moisture needed ( the heat wave plus humidity was not helping the situation, not fair mother nature )

I dusted the floors with diatomaceous earth after the big clean. Burning any extra wood and hauling out all the barn goodies hanging around. Next step is to use the pressure washer for the first time ever to shine her right up! I'm extremely thrilled about the pressure washing. Very excited. 🧡

* So far it's the vinegar taking top points. We'll see what the creepies are up to tommorow morning. Hopefully they're just up to being dead.
